Modern biblical scholars often put "Wonderful" and "Counselor" together and translate them as "Wonderful Counselor" or "Wonder of a Counselor", but we can still meditate on these two different names separately. "Counselor" can be translated as a consultant using the modern language. Different terms have been used in the Bible, such as "counsel" (Isaiah 40: 13; 41 28; Ps. 119: 24), "plan" (Ephesians 1:11; Heb. 6:17), "wisdom" (1 Corinthians 1:24) are all referring to His identity as a "Counselor". How wonderful! When we seek "God's counsel" and guided by "God's wisdom", we will not walk in the dark.
The Wonderful Counselor is full of compassion and love. He will not see us as just another case, but His children; He will not see us as a problematic person, but a person with problems. He knows our needs (John 2:24, 25), He is the mighty one who can solve all the problems we encounter. Through prayers, we can communicate with Him, and He is willing to listen to our grievances. He is the incarnation of God’s wisdom, and He can solve all the mysteries of life. He has also promised to guide us into the truth through His "Spirit of Counsel". This Wonderful Counselor can guide our thoughts, our feelings, and everything we do through His wisdom because he is a Wonderful Counselor.
Meditate
1. The identity of "Counselor" emphasizes "the power and wisdom of Christ" (1 Corinthians 1:24). He is the "counsel from the mouth of God", and He is the "incarnation of God's wisdom." If you can put the sovereignty of life in His hands, He will guide us in God's will.
2. This wonderful "Counselor" is better than all counselors, psychologists, and teachers in the world. He can solve all the mysteries of life, and he can solve all the problems of life, as long as you come to him, seek him, believe in him, walk with him, live with him, and he will be the guide of your thoughts, feelings, and life.

Oh God!
You are a Wonderful Counselor.
In you, there is nothing impossible,
please help us to understand
and know how to pray
according to your wishes,
not according to our own wishes.
